The Dream Catcher: Ch-3 The Envelope

Ch-3

The Envelope

The tick-tock of the clock was echoing in my ears.

I was impatient to know what had happened. I waited for a long time and was continuously watching my room's door, and thinking, "Now grandpa will come. Now he will come." Our  home was a place where every time some or the other noise used to come but now nothing.

I don't know when I fell asleep. When I woke up I realised I was in our house's drawing room
with a blanket and a pillow over me. One of our maids, Laya was sitting next to me on a chair. She was a very humble lady and was like my grandma. I asked her eagerly, "How I am in the drawing room and where is grandpa?" She replied, "Sir told me to do this and he said that he has to go somewhere for some work so he will be busy and he also said that he will be back in few days." I was shocked to hear this because for the first time grandpa had gone somewhere without telling me. I took the phone and called mama to know if grandpa had told anything to her or papa. Laya asked if I was calling mama or papa and I replied yes. She stopped me and told not to call mama and papa as they were on a business tour to Los Angeles for a week. I was fully puzzled and didn't know what to do. Then I thought about Mr. Danny and asked Laya about him and she said that he had also gone with grandpa.

I ran to my room and started searching if there was anything different but everything was normal as before. I then ran to grandpa's room to check if something was fishy.

After getting disappointed on finding nothing from the room when I was about to go from there, I noticed a paper lying under a bunch of clothes on the bed in his room. I rushed towards the paper and found that it was an envelope. I opened it and started reading the letter inside it. I recognized grandpa's handwriting on it.

It was written, " Dear Kimmie, I know you would have found this letter only. I am sure you must be wondering where I am and I am ok or not. Please don't worry about me at all. I am fine. You just take care of yourself and your parents. I don't know if I will come back or not but you never lose hope and my blessings are always with you. I can't tell you where I am or why I have gone for your safety. Just remember my given morals and values and become a good person in life. Don't trouble your parents ever and keep them happy always. Remember to never ever touch the dream catcher in my room for my sake. And don't cry after reading the letter, ok? Grandpa loved, loves and will always love you, darling.

Yours lovingly,

Grandpa."

Tears started rolling down my cheeks on reading the letter but I controlled myself because grandpa had written in the letter not to cry. I missed grandpa a lot. I held the letter tightly in my hand and acted normally after coming out of the room. I straightaway went to my room and remained quiet and didn't tell anyone about the letter. The only thing wandering in my mind was why grandpa left us suddenly and did Mr. Danny do something or not.

I started remaining quiet. Neither anything tasted good to me nor bad. I was just thinking about grandpa. After a week, my parents returned back from Los Angeles. They were also shocked to hear what had happened. They were also very sad. They tried to do everything to find him but failed. We were not able to find grandpa anywhere in the country. The only thing I could do was to remember my sweet memories with grandpa. A month later I went to grandpa's room to cherish my lovely moments with him. I went to his room and looked at everything and cried. I noticed the dream catcher too. I felt like some shiny pink light is coming from it. At first I thought that I was mistaken but the next day I noticed the same. Now I was getting suspicious about the dream catcher because grandpa used to keep me and everyone away from it and in the letter also, grandpa had warned me about it and now this light...
