The Dream Catcher: Ch-8 The Tunnel
Ch-8
The Tunnel
She was only regretting my question again and again. She just kept on saying I will tell you afterwards, I will tell you afterwards and then she used to change the topic. It was night now and she had made a bed for me out of straws, grass and cotton. It was a really soft bed. She made me lay down on that soft bed and she lied down beside me. She starting telling me a story of fairy tales which she used to tell me when I was young. Her voice was seeming more melodious to me than before. As I gave a hug on her hairy body, I fell asleep.
It was the midnight and there were dark purple clouds outside and the sky was as black as coal.
I was awoken by a thumping on the roof. I had a feeling like grandma was not with me on the bed. I felt a little scared and spoke in a shrill voice, "Hey Grandma! Where are you?" No one responded. I repeated again. Still there was no response. I was a bit scared now. I stood up and saw that no one was there in the house except me. My heart panicked. I was confused and didn't knew what to do. I had looked for her everywhere in the cave and she was no where to be found. I started to panic and was about to go outside the cave when I felt like someone was behind me. My heartbeat raised when I saw a shadow arising in front of me.
I also heard someone's voice from outside saying some spells. The words were not at all understandable by me. I was scared to open the door. Suddenly some rough, ghastly hand caught me and started to pull me towards itself. I started to scream at the top of my lungs. Intense pain started in my abdominal area. The hands were not ready to leave me and were pulling me backwards.
The hands stopped when a mellifluous sound of a musical instrument was heard. I soon recognized that the sound was of a flute.
The strong grip left my body and I was free. I looked around and found grandma playing the flute. I rushed to her and gave her a tight hug. The flute fell down from her hands and the deadly greenish-black creature with one red eye and one blue horn who was holding me got up and was about to attack us when I quickly picked up the flute and started to play it but the demon was still marching towards us. I was playing but there was no effect on the demon. It was just a metre away from us when grandma plucked out five hair from her body and spoke the spell- Amigo deman, Amigo beman, Amigo....! The demon was frozen there for second and was not able to move. Grandma whispered in my ear the same spell and told me to run to the north-east until I meet a green coloured giant squirrel. She picked up a stone lying there with only her one finger and told me to run for my life in the tunnel that was under the stone.
She gave me the flute and pushed me in the tunnel. I cried a lot on getting separated from her. I thought it was the last time I was seeing her.
